Shipping policy
The important stuff ....
Each and every one of The Gourmet Fudgery’s products are lovingly
hand-made and it will take some time for us to make and ship your item/s to
you. We try our best to have a 2-7 working day lead time from the time you
order until your product is shipped, but this can be affected by various
unforeseen circumstances and we may take a few days longer to complete
production of your item/s. If you have placed a larger order, please work on
a 5-10 working day lead time before we will be able to ship to you.
We understand that you’re excited about getting your order, and
we’ll do our best to keep you informed every step of the way.
Please note that we do not deliver to farms or Informal Settlements.
We use The Courier Guy as our preferred shipping company, delivery fees start at R99, and is dependent on the size of the order. Bulk and wholesale orders are quoted per order.
The legal stuff ....
The Gourmet Fudgery’s Delivery Policy is incorporated by
reference into The Gourmet Fudgery’s Online Terms and
Conditions which can be accessed at www.thegourmetfudgery.co.za. If
there is any conflict between this Delivery Policy and the Online Terms and
Conditions, the Online Terms and Conditions will prevail and will apply in
respect of all products sold through the The Gourmet Fudgery website.
Online Ordering and Email Confirmation
Products purchased through the The Gourmet Fudgery website
will be delivered to a physical address of your choice, which must be selected
during the online ordering process. As soon as your order is dispatched,
we will send you a confirmation email with tracking details.
Courier Delivery
Deliveries will be performed by a courier company engaged by The
Gourmet Fudgery.
The delivery service is typically available from 8am until till
mid-afternoon during weekdays only, and no deliveries will be made on
weekends or public holidays. We recommend that you use your office address as
your physical delivery address if you are not at home during the week.
You may be required to sign for delivery and to provide a valid form of
identification when your order is delivered.
If you are not available to take delivery of your order, we will attempt
either one or two more deliveries to the physical address that you provided
during the online ordering process and, if still unsuccessful, either The
Gourmet Fudgery or the courier company, acting on The Gourmet
Fudgery’s behalf, will call you to arrange, in its sole and
absolute discretion, for either a further delivery attempt to be made or for
you to collect your order from the courier company.
In the event that The Gourmet Fudgery and/or its duly
appointed courier company is unable to contact you, despite all reasonable
attempts to do so, using the contact details and/or physical delivery address
that you provided during the ordering process, we reserve the right to cancel
your order and refund to you the money already paid to The Gourmet Fudgery. Please
note that a 50% handling fee will be charged in such an event.
Delivery Times
Our delivery times will vary depending on, among other things, material
availability or order size. While The Gourmet Fudgery is
firmly committed to delivering your order within the estimated delivery times,
we are unable to guarantee that all orders will be delivered within the
stipulated time frame, particularly in the event that certain products
contained in your order are temporarily (or permanently) unavailable.
Our liability
The Gourmet Fudgery is not liable for any incorrect order
or delivery where you make an error in the information that you provide to
The Gourmet Fudgery e.g. if you provide the incorrect delivery address
or submit an incorrect order. If you do not provide a valid physical
address for delivery, The Gourmet Fudgery may cancel your
order and refund the purchase price, minus the aforementioned handling
fee. It may also not be possible for us to deliver to some
locations. If this is the case, we will inform you using the contact details
that you provide to us when you make your order, and will arrange for
cancellation of the order or delivery to a different delivery address.
While The Gourmet Fudgery will try to ensure a smooth
delivery process, in the event that we are unable to meet the estimated
delivery time frames, you accept and agree that The Gourmet Fudgery will
not be liable for any losses, liabilities, costs, damages, charges or expenses
arising out of the late delivery of your order. You further
acknowledge that the delivery of your order may be impacted by events beyond
the control of The Gourmet Fudgery, such as adverse weather
conditions, industrial action, or an inability to secure labour, riots, looting,
power and loadshedding, internet services, network connectivity, materials
or supplies.
The Gourmet Fudgery delivers products in standard
packaging. You understand and accept that the packaging of the products offered
on The Gourmet Fudgery’s website (e.g. bottles, containers,
packets, etc.) may be different from the packaging of the product that is
delivered to you.
